STEPHANIE R. - 5 STARS

Felix Tiger created an adventurous fantasy story in Crown of Rebellion. Pirin witnesses the death of his master, a healer, by a Dominion soldier. The soldiers take all of the youth on a walk to Daenovan. There is a Reyard test being held, where each person drinks Ichor to see if a bond with a familiar occurs. Myraden, a northern sprite, and Kalenier are undercover looking for an elf with black hair. However, Myraden makes the mistake of taking the ichor before Pirin, and forms a Reyard bond with a bloodhorn. Red Glove attempts to kill Pirin, but Kalenier intervenes and manages to rescue him. Myraden was taken to Aerdia to train. While making the trip, the convoy she is in is attacked by Elves. Against her need to return to her home, Myraden has to protect her familiar. She ends up fighting the elves, and shows her allegiance to the Dominion. Pirin learns he is supposed to be a noble heir to Khirdia. Kalenier tells him they need to hurry to escape to Sirdia. However, Pirin wants to rescue Myraden first. To save her means they will garner more attention from the Dominion. There is an intense amount of suspense and an amazing cast of characters presented in Crown of Rebellion. Tiger was thorough with developing each character and their motives as the inevitable clash of Sirdians and the Dominion armies clashed. If you like an unpredictable plot full of twists, this book will definitely exceed expectations.
