A riveting story told through the eyes of Samantha Hunter, Twisted Fates is an emotional tale of love, friendship, and magic all rolled into one. Samantha was a misfit in school and is befriended by Jay Sommers. They become best friends and one evening go to an ultra-elite club to relax. At the cub, Samantha meets her soulmate Devon Montgomery. Despite being a normal human, she adapted to life of being the mate of a werewolf. She falls into depression over several years of watching Devon letting his physical appearance fade and their relationship become rocky. Meanwhile, she had chosen Dasha, a witch, to be the one she confided in. Hoping to end the mate bond in order to make Devon happy, Dasha convinces Samantha to see a powerful witch. She is given a potion and after one argument she decides to take it. She falls asleep thinking that she would wake up and part ways with Devon. Samantha did not read the fine print with her potion. I could not put this book down. The way Sam's narrative of events was filled with wit and her clearly displayed emotions were easy to relate to. I found the supporting characters of the story were intriguing as well. The ending is written for an easy transition to the sequel. I recommend Twisted Fates for mature adults as the violence, profanity, and erotic scenes are inappropriate for younger readers. This is a 5 star book and I eagerly look forward to reading the second book. I am normally not a fan of magic centered books but this is definitely a mind changer for me.
