I wanted to like this book more than I did. The premise is interesting but the romance does not come across as a healthy relationship at all and the protagonist isn’t really believable. The homeless college student with a full-ride for classes who goes to a shelter to take showers and eat? And she is a runaway foster kid? And unknowingly supernatural? I just couldn’t get past my disbelief. Also, the book starts very slow and very confusing though it gets better as it goes along. The idea is good but it just doesn’t quite make it to great in the execution.
