DEBBIE O.- 5 STARS

A teen struggles to take care of her ailing brothers during the Irish potato famine. Molly has taken her father's place breaking rocks on a road gang, but it's still not enough to provide adequate care for her brothers, the only remaining members of her family. She makes the decision to sell her body to try to get some food, but is intercepted by John Patrick Donovan.

John Patrick Donovan is troubled by the situation in Ireland; his family has been attempting to alleviate at least some of the suffering. He spots Molly standing by the river as she tries to convince herself that her planned action is necessary. He is touched by her look of desperation and after consideration decides to find out what she needs.

And so begins the story of their mutual rescue.

Together, with John Patrick Donovan's family, they address the needs of as many unfortunate souls as they can reach.

It's a lovely story that uplifts a person's soul and reminds us that there are many caring people in the world.
